Based on the solution provided in this link ( https://answers.informer.com/158481/run-time-error-62-appears-when-loading-the-data ), the installation of Visual C++ Runtime or the .NET Framework should fix the Error 6 Overflow problem for XPSPEAK 41. However, I am still encountering the overflow error. I am running Windows 11 ARM on Parallels 19 on an M3 MacBook. I have installed both the .NET Framework and the Visual C++ Runtime, but the issue persists.
Are there any additional steps I can take to resolve this error on my setup?
The error message ".VMS import error! Run-time error 6: Overflow" suggests an issue with the XPSPEAK program, potentially related to the importation of certain file types or data sizes exceeding what the program can handle. To troubleshoot and resolve this issue, consider the following steps:
Check File Compatibility: Ensure that the file you are trying to import is compatible with XPSPEAK. The format or version could be causing the import error.
Update Software: Check for any updates or patches for XPSPEAK. The issue might have been fixed in a more recent version.
Data Size: If the file being imported is too large, try splitting the data into smaller chunks and import them separately to see if that resolves the issue.
System Resources: Verify that your system meets the necessary requirements to run XPSPEAK and has enough memory and processing power to handle the task.
Reinstall the Program: If nothing else works, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling XPSPEAK to ensure that no files are corrupted.
Consult Documentation or Support: Check XPSPEAK's documentation for any mention of .VMS import issues and consider reaching out to their support team for assistance if the problem persists.
is it because I'm only using free version? I encountered once an error saying it can only read 5000 points. Upon learning this, I installed XPSPEAK in another device but it's having the same issue.

Regarding your question about XPSPEAK: The behavior you're experiencing with exporting only raw data instead of all fitted peaks might be related to the limitations of the free version. Many software applications have feature restrictions in their free versions. The error message you're encountering about the 5000 points limit also suggests there are constraints here. You might consider reviewing the software's documentation or contacting their support for clarification. If enhanced functionality is required, upgrading to a paid version might resolve these issues.
The program works but when I import the file .vms it gives me this error and then closes. I tried Windows Compatibility and administrative right but it doesn't work.
No, the software won't run on Macs by default because it was developed to run on Windows only. However, since there isn't a dedicated version for Mac, I recommend installing Wine Bottler. This application allows you to run Windows applications without actually installing Windows.
I installed the software recently. But when I try to load data (I have vamas files, this error arrives and on clicking OK to error, the software close down:

The error is somehow related to the availability of the Visual C++ Runtime or the NET Framework. I suggest installing these two packets and then test the software one more time. It could also be caused by the compatibility between the application and the operating system.
You could also try reinstalling the application from the application's page at Software Informer. I've seen there is a download available for XPSpeak.

I've installed the application and then I've used the available examples to load content. I was able to analyze the peak area, but didn't find anything related to the %elemental composition.
Access the following link to reach the download page and then install the software. If you need, load the examples from within the folder.
